HOW TO STAY WORRY FREE

Today's post is in conjunction with the Blog-A-Licious Blog Tour, a fantastic blog hop that brings together bloggers of all genres, backgrounds and locations.  Do stop by and say hello plus some of us are having giveaways and contests. Enjoy!
Websites listed below.

I wonder if there really is a way to remain completely  'worry free' and would you even want to be?  I have a tendency to use worrying to ward off disaster, that way nothing takes me by surprise.  I can worry about anything and if I don't have anything to worry about I try to remain deeply concerned.

Now, I would say the better goal in life is to live Stress Free.  No, I don't know how to do that either, except that I try and limit my exposure to mean people as much as possible and I try to volunteer to help someone less fortunate than me (my dad was one to say "if you see someone on the ground, don't step on them or over them, help them up").  My husband and I laugh a lot during the day and I have given up reading serious novels concerning life or death themes.  No Nicholas Sparks for me.  Give me somerhing funny to read or a steamy novel with an alpha male (preferably a fire fighter) and a female in need of protecting, a diet soda and I'm good to go for about two hours.  It's a simple life.

There is a sign in our dog's Vet's office - I'm certain you've all seen it.  Not our Vet's office, the sign.  It suggests that if you live by the rules of dogdom you will pretty much have a good life.

EVERYTHING I NEED TO KNOW I LEARED FROM MY DOG
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout ... run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently

I agree - once I had kids, I had plenty of real-life drama so all my reading and watching choices turned to escapist fluff...and I'm happy this way!

The things I worry about hardly ever happen so I go ahead and fret as a sort of prevention. But I no longer stress, as stressing implies that I have to fix something out of my control. I don't watch the news any more (gasp) because there will be more of it tomorrow. I just go to my happy places and deal with reality when it comes knocking. And I sing songs from "Annie" to irritate those who would like to make their worries mine.

Just got done sharing a banana popsicle with L&P. Our priorities are firmly in place! xo to Miss Darcy!

Exactly Shelley. There is enough trouble without inventing it.

LucyParker - missed you dear. Darcy is so beautiful. I'm going to post new pictures on Sunday I hope. She's turning into a spoiled brat. Love spoiled dogs. Like the ones who share popsicles

hi Karen, love it, pets really are worry free and they ease so much stress. We have two cats and one that adopted us. Our family will never be the same without them.

as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself?

Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it's rare to see a nice blog like this one today.
